Estate Gates & ServiceWhether you want to enhance your property's privacy, security, aesthetic appeal or all three, we have the right gate and gate system for you. We work closely with both customers and suppliers to help you meet your requirements, budget and timeline. We back up all of our installations with a limited two-year warranty on gate components and one year's worth of labor at no charge (acts of God, misuse and abuse are excluded). We offer a comprehensive database management service to manage the codes, transmitters, gate program settings, and access to your property. We also provide a renewable, annual service agreement. Under this agreement we will schedule preventative maintenance and give you priority service - providing you with peace of mind in knowing that someone will be taking care of your gate. Types of GatesWhen purchasing a gate, there are two main types to consider:
Swing Gate SystemAutomatic swing gate systems are the most common gate systems found in gated communities and at residential properties. This system can be either a double or single swing gate. To enter a typical automatic swing gate system a person (on foot or in a vehicle) uses:
All 4 methods require the computer within the keypad to grant or deny entrance. This database in the keypad can be controlled by the homeowner, the homeowner association (HOA), a property management company, or by Chuck Hardwick Fence & Gates. Typically the home owner will manage his/her own database, but homeowner associations and property management companies usually rely on us to manage their databases. Regardless of your access device preference, the device transmits a code to a receiver, this code is verified by the database and a signal is sent to the control panel which opens the gate. If the access code is denied, the code number will be stored in a log for further evaluation. Exiting the gate usually is done with a magnetic sensor buried either under or beside the driveway. This method is preferred so that guests can exit without using any type access device. Chuck Hardwick Fence & Gates has long-standing relationships with suppliers that manufacture custom made and standard swing gates. Our two most important swing gate partners are Ideal Aluminum in Sanford, FL and Edwards Ornamental in Jacksonville, FL.
Slide GatesA slide gate system comes in one of 2 types, "roll" or "cantilever", and has many of the same characteristics of a swing gate. However, instead of the gate 'swinging' open, a chain moves the gate horizontally to grant access. This style gate (roll gate) uses a steel track and rollers for the gate to operate on, or can be a cantilever style where the gate does not come in contact with the ground. |
