Q. If I have an unlisted telephone number and do not want to give it out, will I be able to open the gate for visitors?

A.

Not via the telephone entry system. Your information must be part of the telephone database to open the guest gate. Please remember that your phone number will not be displayed, so we highly encourage you to include yourself in the telephone database.

Q. Can the gates be opened manually?

A.

Yes. In a residential gated community (or with a business) the maintenance personnel will have keys to manually unlock the gates.

Q. What happens if the power goes out?

A.

The system includes a battery back-up feature. If the power goes off, the guest and exit gates will open and stay open until the power returns.

Q. What happens when residents move?

A.

Our office will update the database to reflect the changes. Old code numbers will be deleted and new ones added.

Q. With ongoing construction, how will the contractors come and go?

A.

We can program the gates to remain open during set hours. For example, we can program them to remain open from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM each day.

Q. At what distance from the exit gate should it begin to open?

A.

Approximately 40 feet from the gate.

Q. Can a resident in a gated community have more than one phone number listed at the entrance keypad?

A.

That decision is usually left to the Board of Directors or the homeowners association. However, that number may be a cell phone number or you can utilize call forwarding when you are not at home.

Q. How far away will the remote open the resident gate?

A.

Approximately 100 feet.

Q. My family has three remotes. If one is damaged or lost must I replace all three?

A.

No, each transmitter has its own identification with the software. You would only need to replace the one that is lost or damaged.

Q. What keeps the gate from closing on something or someone in the gate's path?

A.

Photo beams are installed on each gate (similar to an automatic garage door). If the beam is broken or not completing the circuit, then the gate will re-open and stay open until the path is clear.
